As an Ambassador of Lived Experience, I participated in a federala convening, debrief, and working session with Think of Us in collaboration with the Children's Bureau. At this convening, we identified supports needed for transition-age foster impacted youth and through the efforts of Think of Us, were able to create proximity at scale by connecting advocates with policy makers,the associate commissioner of the Children's Bureau, members of DHS and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption. Using the data samples and lived experienced of ambassadors, Think of Us constructed a list of policy and funding recommendations to be applied to the 2023 annual Children's Bureau initiatives.
